  20. You can actually use O2 on everything but mft. 
  21. I compared complete trip and trap typescripts from 
  22. compilations with no optimization and with
  23. O2 optimization and the match is perfect.

  25. There is something about mft that really makes gcc
  26. sweat.  I managed to get it through under Solaris 2.3, but
  27. it more than five times as long as any other optimization.

  29. Trying to use O2 on mft under OS 4.1.3 dumps core and produces
  30. nastily unexpected results if the core (HUGE) fills the disk.

  32. SUNWspro CC also manages to optimize mft, but it has to work
  33. rather hard too.
